I’m so sad that summer is winding down. This is our second summer here at the Jersey Shore, and we haven’t gotten to the beach nearly as much as I thought (and hoped) we would.

But, for now, the hot weather is sticking around and so I did something I rarely do, which is venture out in a sleeveless top!

I’ve been hitting the end-of-season sales at the stores and thrift shops. For the first time in two years, I’m confident that the size I’m in now is the size I’ll be next summer. I’ve been at the same weight for about three months now, so I believe I’ve hit my level.

I really like the floral pattern in this top, and the contrasting green in the body and the trim. I also like the empire waist with the tie, because it gives my bust a little more “presence”. Unfortunately, that is the part of my body that shrank the most in my weight loss!

I paired the top with a Kenneth Cole Reaction denim skirt. This skirt is very comfortable, stretch with a zip up the back. It also has my new clothing must-have — pockets! Especially during the summer, I like to be able to run out without carrying a purse. And it’s always convenient to have a pocket for carrying a voice recorder or pitch pipe when I’m out singing.

Since even on the hottest days I freeze in air conditioning, I always keep some kind of light sweater or jacket. I liked the pop this peach-colored shrug gave this outfit. I wear this one often.

This entire outfit was thrifted, including the sandals which I bought on eBay.
