Yes, it’s been a long time since I posted! And the longer I went, the more I couldn’t figure out how to restart — so I decided just to jump in and start swimming again!
Since the last time I posted was in September (!!!), I decided to just browse through my outfit photos, some of which were posted on Instagram, and show you what I’ve been wearing!
I live what I call “The Sneaker Life”. I say I’m retired, but I actually work almost full time hours at my online reselling business. So, although I don’t have to dress up to go out to an office every day, I still get up early, get out to the gym, then home to get dressed and “made up”, ready to go every day!
Jeans or jeggings and a hoodie are a typical outfit for me. Both the typical short hoodie and the longer drawstring waist jacket above were thrifted. Jeans and sneakers are the most comfortable outfit for digging around at a thrift shop or auction.
Another wardrobe during fall and early winter is a vest. I hate wearing a heavy coat in the car or in and out of stores, so a vest gives me that layer of warmth. The animal print vest below was a new thrifted acquisition this year and I layered it over a zippered jacket for browsing estate sales.
Another comfortable outfit for working at home is leggings and a tunic. The black leggings below are White House Black Market, thrifted with the tags still on at a yard sale for 50 cents. The sharkbite hem on this tunic gives it a bit of interest.
The same vest layered over a J. Jill plaid top which went back into the donate pile after this wearing because it gapped in the front, a frequent problem for me with a button-front top!
And, finally, this pink puffy vest is a favorite of mine, worn over an navy tunic and floral leggings. The vest and leggings were thrifted, and the tunic was bought online from eShakti.
As you can see, I like layers in the fall and winter. Below, I wore a thrifted floral jacket while we had a little fun taking photos. The thrifted white long sleeve stretchy tee shirt is White House Black Market and gets a lot of wear. My black ankle pants were bought from the WHBM clearance rack.
This red corduroy jacket was a thrift shop acquisition from several years ago that is still a favorite. Both the pink hi-low waffle knit top and girlfriend jeans were bought on clearance at Boscov’s.
And, finally, I wore a lovely warm cascading open front sweater over a beige tee shirt and brown slim pants to a few doctor appoinments and errands.
Just because you live the sneaker life doesn’t mean you can’t look nice and put together!

Hi, Maggie-I didn’t realize you hadn’t been posting. That could be because my last post was early October and I don’t have a burning desire to get started back. I certainly agree that we need to “keep on stylin’ ” during our retirement years. Love your sneakers!

Hello 🤗. Enjoyed your thoughts & photos. You looks spectacularly joyous! and quite comfortable. Even “dressed down” outfits can look “dressed up” with accessories as you’ve shown.
It’s always a “treasure hunt” when going to charity & second hand shops or yard/rummage/garage sales. What an interesting “retirement career” you’ve created, too.
