In this time of “stay at home”, the thing I miss most is being able to walk on the beach.
We’re so fortunate to have a seasonal home at the Jersey shore, and we headed down early this year to get ready for a long-planned renovation project. A week later, stay-at-home orders went into effect and we sheltered in place along with everyone else. One thing that helped keep our sanity was being able to walk down to the end of our street and stroll on the beach.
This is not our home. We are about a block and a half away, but it would be amazing to be this close! This beach is on the bay in Cape May County, often touted as home of the most beautiful sunsets!
We enjoyed a stroll on the beach almost every day in March and early April, although it’s been a chilly start to spring here!
Sadly, the township issued a beach closure order in early April, so this pleasure is not available to us any longer. We’ve adapted with walks around the neighborhood and are fortunate to have a wooded area with paths nearby.
I hope that you have found a substitute for some of your sources of happiness that are closed to you right now!
